Emerald table

The complete correspondence of Géza Csáth, known today, kicks in about 1,500 pieces. Our edition selects these, supplementing Csáth's letters with those written to him. We can get to know his relationship with his family, his literary and artistic network, his friendships with artists and doctors unfold - he corresponded with several notable artists from Dezső Kosztolányi to Leo Weiner and even Puccini, Ady invites inquires about the reasons in Kosztolányi's medical language ... Reading the letters reveals the XX. century - Subotica, Budapest, the Tatra and Transylvanian spa towns - a diverse world, where correspondents open at least as many interesting windows to their own lives as Csáth's own tragic history. The Emerald Table (the title of Csáth's never-realized paper) provides important additions not only to the history of Csáth's, but also to the history of Kosztolányi's works. The selection, notes and the annotated name index are the work of Eszter Edina Molnár and Mihály Szajbély.
