There is hardly an event that would be the subject of full agreement with the broader "left-wing camp" rather than the uprising of the city of Paris, the Paris Commune after the losing Prussian-French War, and. however, more or less everyone agrees with this. Of course, one of the reasons for this phenomenon is that perhaps this is the important historical event that we know perhaps the least about: the history of the communion is often quite obscure, even for its followers, fans and admirers. The reason for this is that the commune, this "tiger leap under the open sky of history" (in the words of Walter Benjamin) has already proved to be a very difficult historical event for contemporaries to grasp and tell.
